A Match Made in the Garden

Scoop Jardine's haters? Meet Dion Waiters.
Dion Waiters? Meet Scoop Jardine's haters.

I think you are really going to hit it off.

Waiters was fantastic in the 2nd half tonight. He finished with 11 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals. And that is only the tip of the iceberg. In a game that Virginia Tech dictated for 30 minutes, it was Waiters' speed that finally tipped the scales to the (obviously superior) Orange.

Scoop watched the 2nd half from the bench. Was he thinking, "I can do that!" I hope not. Waiters brings something else to the court. Something faster and more athletic. He is a wonderful change of pace from Scoop's strength and off-the-dribble determination.

If Waiters' emergence continues from here, Syracuse is going to find itself in the rare position of having two excellent point guards. Few teams have one. (MCW? MCW? Wherefore art thou, MCW?  Well...we can wait.)
